Se sua viagem for para a América do Sul, existe em vigor “O Acordo sobre documentos de viagem – Mercosul” o qual reconhece a validade dos documentos de identidade(RG) emitidos no Brasil, sendo assim, não é necessário a utilização de passaporte para os países que fazem parte do Mercosul(Brasil, Argentina, Paraguai e Uruguai)  e os países associados(Bolívia, Chile, Colômbia, Equador, Peru e Venezuela), para maiores informações, favor acessar o Portal Consular do Ministério das Relações Exteriores através do link -http://www.portalconsular.mre.gov.br/antes/acordo-sobre-documentos-de-viagem-mercosul .

É muito importante lembrar que, carteira de motorista não substitui o RG, então não adianta tentar embarcar somente com a carteira de motorista.

Já para outros continentes como, por exemplo: EUROPA, América do Norte, ASIA, etc... será necessário a utilização de passaporte e, dependendo do país também será solicitado o visto de entrada.

Vale a dica; se você for para EUROPA em férias e, for ficar por lá no máximo três meses, você será beneficiado pelo “tratado de Schengen” e não será necessário o visto de entrada e ainda poderá circular livremente entre os países signatários. O tratado tem um total de 30 países, os integrantes da União Europeia, com exceção do Reino Unido e Irlanda e, também fazem parte do acordo de livre circulação a Islândia, Noruega e Suíça.
